Updated: Nov 11, 2021

Reiki is a profound tool for use in self-care. In fact, most Reiki practitioners who have studied Reiki healing practice some form of Self-Reiki on a daily basis. Reiki is a toolbox of wellness in your hands. Often, a person may have sought out Reiki for it’s natural healing benefits. There are many ways you may have heard about Reiki, whether from your physician or medical provider, family or friends who may have great results, or in the news.

Did you know, all it takes is 5 minutes a day which can provide a calming, lasting benefit. Like meditation, Reiki calms and centers you while managing the stress of daily life. Reiki also energizes and provides clarity of mind as well. This is because it works energetically to both provide relaxation and to strengthen and assist your body’s energy pathways to function optimally. Others find it helps with developing a more spiritual connection and experience a greater sense of meaning in life.

Some practical ways Self-Reiki can be used include: preparing yourself for the day, ten minutes of Reiki for added calm before you go to sleep, five minutes before a meeting or presentation, and an infinite array of situations.

Reiki may be also be used in preparing meals, gardening, with your pets and family too. But always remember that self-care is important to keep you at your best, so a few minutes of Self-Reiki a day can do wonders.

When performing Self-Reiki be sure to be in a position that best suits you whether standing or sitting. Be sure to choose a time of day that is easiest for you ensuring you will have 30 to 45 minutes to perform Self-Reiki, and don’t let that time go by. There will be days when you will not finish all hand placements, and that is ok. After a treatment most people feel calm and relaxed, and some say they feel energetic, clear-minded and productive.

When practising self-Reiki customize it for you, keeping it simple and doable. Always remember to practice, observe what you are feeling, contemplate on your session, and repeat.
